Combination Water Heating Systems
As the rotex heat exchanger has up to 3 seperate circuits it is possible to use a variety of heat sources to run a combination of water heating circuits all from one system.
As an example an upmarket house recently completed has 8 zones of underfloor heating, with a 77000lt lap pool and domestic water heating including 3 bathrooms. This is running successfully with heating from 6 solar panels and 2 Rinnai instantaneous gas burners.
The benefits of using one combined system are that the solar panels are assisting to heat the pool in summer, the underfloor in winter and preheating the domestic water. Just 2 gas burners are able to top up heating in any circuit as required.
The usual scenario would be to have a pool heating installer with a seperate heating source, along with an underfloor installer with another heating source and the plumber with another circuit and heat source for domestic hot water.
By utilising the expertise of Ecoheat Ltd the owner has greatly reduced space requirements, he has one contact for any queries or problems should they arise, and the entire installation is very energy efficient. The only maintenance required is an occasional check on the water level in the Rotex heat exchanger.
